San Diego is home to many delicious restaurants that are perfect for families looking for a meal together. One local favorite is Pizza Nova in Point Loma.

This family-friendly restaurant offers wood-fired pizzas, pasta dishes, and salads. Pizza Nova has a casual atmosphere and the staff always makes sure that everyone enjoys their meal.

This is one of our Captain’s favorite restaurants, and it tends to get quite crowded on the weekends so it’s best to try to catch a bite during the weekdays. You can even arrive there by boat!

For those looking to enjoy an authentic Italian experience outside of Italy, Il Fornaio in Coronado is a great choice. Il Fornaio offers lunch and dinner every day at most locations, plus large parties, private dining groups, and special events. This is also one of our captain’s favorites so be sure to visit this excellent restaurant. (also accessible by boat only a short walk from Coronado’s ferry landing)

5) Take a Hike Through Torrey Pines State Park

Located in La Jolla, Torrey Pines State Park Nature Reserve is another place to create memories with family. With stunning ocean views and a variety of geological formations, this hike is not to be missed!

In addition to its famous golf course and glider port, the reserve is home to the rarest pine tree in the United States, the Torrey Pine, an endangered species endemic to San Diego.

Stay on the trail to protect the environment. The Torrey Pines trails are perfect for hikes from easy to difficult with stunning coastal views, golden-hued cliffs, and a sandy beach below.

6) Visiting La Jolla Shores Beach

If you’re looking for a beach day, look no further than La Jolla Shores Beach. This beautiful beach is one of the best places in San Diego to enjoy an amazing beach day and even has a large parking lot right on the beach.
